• Old School WCW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WCW Veteran The Maestro (Real name: Robert Kellum) celebrates his birthday today.

Maestro wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling from September 1999 to April 2000, before returning to the indies, where he still wrestles nowadays.

During his time in WCW, he had a valet called Symphony, who was actually WWF Attitude Era Diva Ryan Shamrock.

• Old School Wrestlling Legend Would Celebrate His Birthday

Today would have been the birthday of legendary Old School Wrestling announcer Gordon Solie (Real name: Francis Labiak).

Solie was famous for doing commentary for various NWA territories like Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida, USA Championship Wrestling, … among a few others, before ultimately staying with Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling during the 90s.

He’s widely considered one of the greatest play-by-play announcers in professional wrestling history.

• Old School WrestleMania Celebrity Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WrestleMania Celebrity ‘Mr. Baseball’ Bob Uecker celebrates his birthday today.

Uecker appeared as the guest ring announcer for the WrestleMania III main event and returned the following year at WrestleMania IV as a backstage announcer and even did commentary for the opening match.

In 2010 the Sportscaster Hall of Famer was also inducted into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame by NBC Legend Dick Ebersol.
