This was the 3rd out of 4 “Wrestlepalooza” events held by ECW between 1995 and 2000, but at the same time the only one of them that actually aired on pay-per-view.

• Old School Wrestling Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the birthday of Old School Wrestling Legend Stu Hart.
Stu Hart wrestled for various territories during the 40s, 50s & 60s and he was also the legendary promoter of the ‘Calgary Stampede Wrestling’ territory from 1967 till he sold the promotion to Vince McMahon in 1984.
Though in 1986 one of his sons, Bruce Hart re-opened the promotion on his own.
Stu Hart was one of the few legendary wrestlers, who wrestled all kinds of animals like Bears & Tigers.
He was the proud father of fellow wrestling legends Bret “The Hitman” Hart & Owen Hart, as well as the father-in-law of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart & “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith.

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (May 3, 1996) – Old School Wrestling Legend Passed Away
On this day in 1996 we lost Old School Wrestling Legend Ray “The Crippler” Stevens (Real name: Carl Ray Stevens) at the age of 60 due to a heart attack in his sleep.
Stevens wrestled for 42 years, from 1950 till 1992, working for various territories such as the AWA, the World Wrestling Federation, CWF, Jim Crockett Promotions & NWA Big Time Wrestling.
He won championships in pretty much every promotion he worked for and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021 as part of their annual “Legacy Wing” inductions.
