• One Of The Coolest Moments Of Vince McMahon’s Life Revealed
During an interview on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, two time WWE Hall of Famer “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair talked about Vince McMahon facing him in a match at WWF Royal Rumble 2002 and how Vince got emotional before that match.
Below is what Flair said:
“[Vince] wanted to wrestle me. Think about this. I go over to Vince McMahon and I said, ‘I want to talk to you.’ This is me and I am lost and I’m gonna wrestle Vince and he has tears in his eyes. He said, ‘I just want you to know this is going to be one of the coolest moments of my life to wrestle you.’ How do you think I’m computing this when I can’t find myself?
Shane [McMahon] and I did a spot in Japan and he goes ‘man, I can’t tell you how cool this is to be in the ring with you.’ I went from being that guy where people were like ‘thank you for this moment’ to being here today with you calling me the greatest of all time. It’s a roller coaster. How lucky am I to have people hold me in that regard?
I want to be remembered, as does everybody, for the good things and not the bad…I’ve never done anything illegal and never taken drugs, but I was out of control. I will never get over the problems that I probably could have helped people through in my family. I could have been there more, I could have been wiser.
I don’t want to be remembered as the greatest wrestler…I hope that the positive stuff that I’ve done outweighs the negative. That’s where I’m at.”
