Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring CM Punk and Steve Austin.
• “Only thing Steve Austin did wrong was not Stunnering that little nerd” – Jim Cornette
During an interview for the WWE Ruthless Aggression Era documentary series a few years ago, WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin spoke about refusing to lose to Brock Lesnar, then dubbed as “The Next Big Thing”, in a King of the Ring qualifying match on RAW in 2002.
Because of this incident, Austin left WWE that night and went home, as he did not agree with the booking of the match, which would’ve had him losing to Brock randomly without any storyline build-up whatsoever.

Jim Cornette took to X and seemed to blame then-WWE creative team member Brian Gewirtz for the situation:
“The only thing Austin did wrong here was not stunnering that pimply faced little nerd Gerwitz on the way out.”
• CM Punk Reveals What He Did After Main Eventing WrestleMania 41 – Night 1
CM Punk finally achieved his lifelong goal of main eventing WrestleMania on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41. Punk took on Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a brilliant triple threat match to end the show.
In an interview with Deadline, Punk said it felt like a dream. When asked what he did after the show, Punk said:
“I’m 100% an introvert, and I think a lot of my fellow entertainers are too. Everyone’s always shocked, or they tell me that I’m not (an introvert), but I know me.
For every hour I spend with people, I need two hours by myself. So when you’re having this intimate moment with 61,000 people, I live for those moments, but I need to balance and decompress afterward.”
Punk explained the importance of having downtime:
“That’s why when I get invited to cool spots to eat and stuff like that, honestly, that’s the last thing you want to do after that. I went back to my hotel with 4 or 5 friends, and we ordered everything on the room service menu and just sat around the table and bullsh*t like family. That’s how I decompress from all that adrenaline.”
