On tonight’s episode of AEW Collision, NJPW Veteran Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Swerve Strickland.
After the match, AEW World Champion MJF appeared on the titantron. He said that he spoke to AEW President Tony Khan and demanded that their match be the opening match at Forbidden Door because he’s doesn’t want to sit around and watch a bunch of indy guys from Japan wrestle.
MJF claimed that he’s going to embarrass Tanahashi in front of everyone because The Ace is not on the level of The Devil.
At first, Tony Khan teased during a media call that CM Punk vs. Satoshi Kojima in the Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament will open the main PPV show of Forbidden Door, but now it looks like it will be MJF vs. Tanahashi for the AEW World Title.
According to the Wrestling Observer, either Bryan Danielson vs. Kazuchika Okada or Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship will main event Forbidden Door.
