On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy faced Pac (fka Neville in WWE) in a #1 Contenders match, with the winner facing Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 PPV.

Cassidy was legitimately knocked out during the match, which resulted in an audible being called and a quick angle being done to end the match in a double count-out.

Tony Schiavone then announced that AEW President Tony Khan has told him that it will be Kenny Omega (c) vs. Pac vs. Orange Cassidy in a Triple Threat Match for the AEW World Championship at AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 PPV.

According to PWInsider, the original plan for this match was to end in a 20-minute time limit draw, which would’ve then resulted in the above Triple Threat Match announcement.
