• Original Plan For AJ Styles On RAW Revealed

The Phenomenal One was traded to SmackDown last week in return for a wrestler who’ll be named later.

AJ Styles defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to qualify for the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament, and will now face Daniel Bryan in the final match of the tournament.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Styles was originally planned to stay on RAW to feud with mid-card talent to bring them in the spotlight.

“AJ was there to make new babyfaces, that was what he was there for. How many new babyfaces did he make? None. He didn’t even lose on the way out.

My point is that every one of these guys from Ricochet to Cedric Alexander to Humberto Carrillo – every single one of them was supposed to be in a big feud with AJ where they would get over and they would win the title and not one of them did.”
