• Original Post-WrestleMania 42 Plan For Gunther Revealed

At WrestleMania 42, Gunther defeated Seth Rollins. On SmackDown after WrestleMania, The Ring General attacked Cody Rhodes and made it clear that he wants the Undisputed WWE Championship.

According to Bodyslam+, the original post-WrestleMania 42 plan for Gunther was to have a short program with LA Knight on RAW. However, WWE officials decided to pivot.

Knight teamed up with The Usos to defeat The Vision (Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed at WrestleMania 42.

LA recently told The Usos that he doesn’t like them joining forces with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns again.

• Why TKO Is Asking Some WWE Wrestlers To Take A Pay Cut

Even though WrestleMania 42 made a huge amount of money, WWE is now pushing many of its wrestlers to accept lower pay. The company’s parent company, TKO, is looking to increase its profits by looking at how much stars are paid compared to how much they are actually used on TV.

According to reports from Bodyslam and the Wrestling Observer, management believes some wrestlers are currently overpaid for their roles, so they are asking them to sign new contracts for less money.

This situation has already led to some big names leaving the company. For example, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) were reportedly asked to take a pay cut, but they refused to renegotiate and asked for their release instead.

On the other hand, several other wrestlers have chosen to stay and accept the smaller checks. Dave Meltzer mentioned that one specific star took a major pay cut just to remain with WWE, even though he could have made more money jumping to AEW.

These changes aren’t expected to stop anytime soon, as the company plans to keep reviewing contracts to make sure they aren’t spending more than they think a talent is worth.
