Paul Heyman Wanted CM Punk To Break The Undertaker’s Then-Undefeated Streak At WrestleMania 29

During his recent appearance on Chael Sonnen’s podcast, Paul Heyman admitted that he pitched the idea of former WWE Champion CM Punk breaking The Undertaker’s then undefeated streak at WrestleMania back in 2013.

Heyman wanted this to happen so that Punk puts away the plan of leaving WWE. Below is what he said:

I actually pitched it for Punk, because I thought it was the only thing that was going to keep Punk from eventually leaving WWE. Even before that match, he was itching to get out.

I figured if they gave him this victory, he needed to stay a while and capitalize on it. That idea never came to fruition. Then, of course, the stars were just aligned for it to be Brock.

During the podcast, Heyman also noted that there 0% chance that Brock Lesnar will face “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 32.
