Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Penta, Rey Fenix, and Mickie James.
• Penta made his WWE debut on RAW in January and he’s one of the hottest rising stars in the company right now.
Last week, he competed in his first title match in WWE, when he faced Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship on RAW. However, he lost the match via DQ after Dominik Mysterio interfered and attacked Breakker.
Breakker vs. Penta vs. Dirty Dom vs. Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship is the current plan for WrestleMania 41.
On this Friday’s SmackDown, Penta’s brother, Rey Fenix, will make his WWE debut.
According Sean Ross Sapp on the Fightful Select podcast, Penta and Rey Fenix told WWE that they don’t want to go to NXT and want to debut directly on the main roster. Triple H fulfilled their wish and that’s what fans wanted as well.

• Mickie James delivered a candid critique of certain female wrestlers’ ring attire on the latest episode of WWE LFG, expressing her frustration with what she perceives as a step backward from the hard-fought progress made during the “Diva Era.”
After Zena Sterling’s match, Mickie acknowledged Sterling’s new gear but used the moment to make a broader point. “I like your new gear,” she said, before adding, “I lived during the Diva Era, and we fought very, very hard to not have to wrestle in lingerie anymore.”
James then bluntly addressed her concerns. “Since because I am a female, I can speak on this. It’s very frustrating when women go out there and wrestle and all I see is their a$$. I can’t look past that—it’s all I see. It’s very distracting.”
She clarified that her criticism wasn’t intended to be personal, but rather a commentary on the image being presented. “You want to be taken seriously as a wrestler, but you are pretty much wrestling in jazzed-up lingerie,” James stated. “And that’s my opinion. And that’s coming from someone who’s had their a$$ on TV a lot.”
