• People In AEW Were Aware Of Brodie Lee’s Condition
The Wrestling world is mourning the sudden death of AEW wrestler Brodie Lee (fka as Luke Harper in WWE).
Brodie passed away due to a non-COVID-19 related Lung issue.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, some people in AEW were aware of Brodie’s condition, and Meltzer knew it was bad when Kenny Omega lost the AEW World Title to Brodie’s son (unofficial change to make Brodie’s 8 year old son happy) after AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash tapings were over.
Here’s what Meltzer said:
“The few people who knew, and there were only a few people who knew, were keeping it quiet. Everybody knows and I’ve been asking about it and it’s like, ‘I’ve been asking and I didn’t know what it was, but he had had this lung ailment for a long time.’
When he was first off they were selling the injury for the Cody [Dog Collar] match, and I guess it was somewhere shortly after when he first got this, and it just got worse and worse, and you know, but people were aware. It’s not like this was something that was sudden.
It’s something terrible he’s been dealing with since people starting asking the questions months ago when they noticed that he wasn’t there.”
