Last month, Samantha Irvin announced her departure from WWE, where she served as RAW’s ring announcer.

Irvin isn’t expected to join AEW, as she had long intended to leave WWE to pursue other ventures. Since then, she has responded to fans on social media, clarifying that her ambition was to become a manager, not a ring announcer.

She tweeted, “I don’t like announcing. I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action but I don’t love being an announcer.”

Irvin also mentioned, “They wanted Rico to stay in the big leagues. I don’t know why everyone pretending like he was always in great positions at WWE. My husband is a millionaire so yes, I don’t have to do a job I don’t like anymore.”

WWE Officials are reportedly not happy with Samantha’s posts.

The Wrestling Observer reported that WWE generally discourages talent from responding to fans in such ways, noting Jade Cargill received similar backlash but did not respond:

“The person said that many in WWE respected [Samantha’s] decision to leave, but after those posts were not happy about that aspect but because she was gone they couldn’t force her to take it down.”

Irvin also noted that Ricochet is now paid well to do matches he enjoys and is doing great. She tweeted, “I am so glad I don’t have a boss anymore so I can say this. Shut the f**k upppppp. Woohoo feels great.”

WWE generally does not support its talent responding to fans in this manner.
