Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day.
• WWE recently announced a Women’s Intercontinental Championship for the RAW brand, with a tournament underway to crown the first-ever champion.
The tournament began on December 2, featuring participants such as Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, Lyra Valkyria, Zoey Stark, Raquel Rodriguez, Kairi Sane, and others. So far, Kai and Valkyria have advanced, with remaining matches including Zoey Stark vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Kayden Carter and Alba Fyre vs. Kairi Sane vs. Natalya.
According to WrestleVotes, some within WWE favor Natalya as the inaugural champion. However, it remains uncertain whether she will ultimately win the title:
“I did hear some feedback with some sentiments that were similar from sources that said they would like it to be Natalya as well. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be her, but there is some favoritism maybe that would like to see her win the Intercontinental Championship.”
The tournament final is expected to take place on the debut episode of RAW on Netflix on January 6.
