• PG Era Wrestler Still Thinks He Will Become A WWE Hall Of Famer

Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio was interviewed by the Wrestling Sport podcast, where he said that he’s still hopeful of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which he claimed is a dream of his.

Here’s how Del Rio justified his thoughts:

“It was an epic moment. To face and defeat CM Punk being in his prime was a privilege. He was not a fashion wrestler, he was already a consolidated wrestler. Imagine yourself at the Staples Center in front of all Latinos. That day was the coronation of all Latinos.”

Him ever getting inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame is a highly unlikely scenario, considering his various past scandals outside of the ring.

• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran Pat Tanaka (Real name: Patrick Tanaka) celebrates his 58th birthday today.

After years in the AWA, Tanaka joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1990 as one half of Mr. Fuji’s Tag Team ‘The Orient Express’.

When his team partner Akio Sato left in late 1990, Tanaka’s old AWA team partner Paul Diamond replaced him, going by the name of Kato, but was wearing a mask to keep the Asian gimmick intact.

Fun Fact: While wrestling for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling during the mid-90s, they gave Tanaka an entrance theme song, that eventually ended up becoming Bill Goldberg’s – now legendary- theme song.
