CM Punk, sidelined since January due to a triceps injury, has remained in the spotlight through his feud with Drew McIntyre. Speculation has arisen about WWE altering Punk’s plans for SummerSlam following this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

On the July 8 episode of RAW, significant developments unfolded as the company prepared for SummerSlam. CM Punk delivered a compelling promo urging Adam Pearce to lift Drew McIntyre’s suspension, creating anticipation for a potential clash. The segment took a turn when Seth Rollins made a dramatic entrance.

Punk, acknowledging his interference with Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship aspirations at Money In The Bank, offered a begrudging apology: “Since it’s you, I can’t be that sorry.”

Rollins accused Punk of gaslighting and reignited their long-standing feud, initially slated to culminate at WrestleMania 40. He reminded Punk that the world doesn’t revolve around him.

Unable to challenge Damian Priest for the title again after his defeat, Rollins vowed to inflict further punishment on Punk once Punk is cleared to compete, emphasizing that “actions have consequences.”

The Wrestling Observer suggested that WWE might opt for a three-way match involving CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins at SummerSlam instead of a singles bout between Punk and McIntyre:

“So when this segment was over, they were probably going with a three-way at SummerSlam if [CM Punk is] cleared rather than a singles match. They were always going to do Punk and Seth because that’s been built up for a long time, but you don’t need to go so hard in that direction if it’s going to be a singles match, because SummerSlam is only a couple weeks away.

It’s certainly the expectation that Punk is going to be wrestling Drew McIntyre on that show, but I think they may go with the three-way to build to Punk and Drew.”
