Planned WrestleMania 33 Match Not Cancelled?

We noted before how Shaquille O’Neal revealed on his podcast that his rumored match with The Big Show at WrestleMania 33 might not happen. Below is what Shaq said back then:

“It’s not going to happen? That’s probably right. It’s not my fault, that’s all you need to know. It ain’t my fault … Oh, it ain’t my fault. It don’t matter what they say. It has nothing to do with the Diesel and his management. That’s what I got to say, but, it’s not totally off yet but it’s not looking good.

But it doesn’t matter, I’m still working out and I still look better than Big Show. I’ll still meet him wherever he wants to meet me. These next thirty days, I’m about to go hard. I’m still doing it like it’s going down.”

However, The Big Show noted during an interview that the match not happening has to do with the situation between WWE & Shaq:

“It’s between Shaq and WWE. Whatever their situation is, who knows. Either that or he can say the fact that I was starting to get in really good shape and he got scared and decided that he wants to bail out.

It’s real easy to talk about stepping in the ring but once you do actually step in the ring, it takes a lot of courage and mental fortitude to do what we do. I understand the fact that if it’s something that he doesn’t want to do, that he’s scared of, that’s fine but don’t put the blame on me because it isn’t me. Just own up to it and say you’re scared and that’s that.”

However, Shaq addressed this situation again today on his podcast and noted that the match might be back on:

“I talked to somebody high up in the WWE and we’re back talking again about the match.”

This was probably the reason why The Big Show destroyed former two time United States Champion Rusev at FastLane 2017, to look strong after losing to Braun Strowman.
