Possible Plan For Shane McMahon At Survivor Series 2017

Shane McMahon

As we saw at SummerSlam 2017, the United States Championship match between AJ Styles & Kevin Owens (which was officiated by SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon) ended in a little bit of controversy when Owens thought he had pinned Styles, but Shane withdrew his 3-count and told Owens that Styles’ leg was on the bottom rope. They then had a heated exchange and Styles took advantage of this and eventually won.

This angle is expected to lead to a feud between Shane O’Mac and Kevin Owens, which will either result in a singles match between Shane & Owens or a Team Shane vs. Team Owens match at Survivor Series 2017. It should be noted that Shane vs. Owens was originally planned for SummerSlam 2017, but plans changed.

Below is what WWE posted about Owens ahead of tonight’s post-SummerSlam 2017 edition of SmackDown Live:

“Another Superstar whose SummerSlam didn’t go quite as planned was Kevin Owens. KO was a hair away from recapturing the United States Title, only for special guest referee Shane McMahon to wave off the three-count after seeing AJ Styles’ foot on the bottom rope. A furious Owens ignored Shane’s warnings and put his hands on the SmackDown LIVE Commissioner, earning a shove back into Styles, who was ready with a Phenomenal Forearm and Styles Clash to retain his title. How will Owens deal with his defeat at The Biggest Event of The Summer?”
