While the original blueprint for WrestleMania 42 reportedly focused on Bianca Belair challenging Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship, that plan has hit a major roadblock. Belair recently underwent complex surgery on her finger — an injury dating back nearly a year — and despite her best efforts to return, there is growing concern that she will not be medically cleared to compete by April.
With The EST of WWE sidelined, WWE is reportedly looking at their back pocket option. WWE Officials are considering having Rhea Ripley win the upcoming Women’s Elimination Chamber match in Chicago to officially punch her ticket to a showdown with Cargill for the WWE Women’s Title at WrestleMania 42.
Cargill originally won the title with the intent of facing Belair, but Ripley’s current momentum and recent collision course teasers on SmackDown make her the natural successor for the WrestleMania spotlight.
As recently as last week, creative teams were still reshuffling the women’s division matches to accommodate these medical updates, ensuring that both major title bouts remain stadium-caliber.
If finalized, Cargill vs. Ripley would represent a clash of the titans between two of the most physically dominant forces in the company, marking a massive marquee match for the Allegiant Stadium event.

• Bad News For Bronson Reed After Injury On RAW
On this week’s RAW, World Tag Team Champion Jey Uso defeated Original El Grande Americano and “Big” Bronson Reed in a Triple Threat Match to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match.

According to WrestleVotes, Bronson was originally scheduled to win this match, but his injury forced WWE to change plans at the very last minute.
Later in the show, Michael Cole announced that Reed suffered a distal biceps tear and will be out of action indefinitely.
