• Possible Stipulation For Rey Mysterio’s WrestleMania 39 Match

Rey Mysterio is scheduled to face his son Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 39.

According to Xero News, WWE is discussing making this match a Street Fight:

“According to a report I received last night, WWE Management and creative team will be having a meeting in the next couple days regarding the matches for WrestleMania.

WWE Management feels WrestleMania is currently over stack with a lot of matches with gimmicks.

WWE creative team has a total of 5 matches with a gimmick for WrestleMania, some are Edge vs. Finn Balor in a Hell in a Cell match, Bray Wyatt in a Last Man Standing match, and Rey vs. Dominik in a Street Fight.

They could change as Management wants to change some.”

Also, WWE recently trademarked “Jailhouse Street Fight”. This is what the stipulation might be for Rey vs. Dominik.

• Old School Wrestling Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School NWA-WWF-WCW Legend Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat (Real name: Richard Blood) celebrates his 70th birthday today.

Over the years, Steamboat wrestled in quite a few of what are now considered to be among the best matches in wrestling history, against opponents like “The Macho Man” Randy Savage, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair & “Ravishing” Rick Rude.

After becoming a star in Jim Crockett Promotions during the 70s & early/mid 80s, he basically jumped back and forth between the World Wrestling Federation (1985-1988 and 1991) and Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1989 and 1991-1994).

His last big matches were against “Y2J” Chris Jericho, in a Handicap Elimination match at ‘WrestleMania 25’ and in a singles match at ‘Backlash 2009’.

Steamboat came out of retirement for one final match in 2022 on the indy scene.
