Possible Title Change At Raw 25, Final ECW Event Took Place 17 Years Ago Today

RAW IS WAR

• OLD SCHOOL VIDEO HISTORY (January 13, 2001) – The Last ECW Event Ever

On this day in 2001, Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion hosted its last event ever, before closing its doors and being sold to Vince McMahon.

While a lot of big names had already left ECW for WWF or WCW at that point in time, they still had a few ECW Veterans on the card that night, like The Sandman & Tommy Dreamer.

Here’s the card:

– Prodigy Tom Marquez vs. Nova

– Christian York & Joey Matthews vs. Hot Commodity

– Jack Victory vs. C.W. Anderson

– Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Super Crazy

– ECW World Title
Rhino vs. Spike Dudley

– Danny Doring & Tommy Dreamer vs. FBI

– Justin Credible vs. The Sandman

– Impromptu rematch
Justin Credible vs. Sandman

– All the wrestlers say goodbye in the ring

• Possible Title Change At Raw 25

As seen on this week’s episode of Raw, Nia Jax attacked Asuka. They’ll now have a match on next week’s episode of Raw.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that after Asuka defeats Nia on next week’s episode of Raw (since WWE isn’t planning on ending her streak right now), she might go on to face Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship at Raw 25.

This comes after the fact that Asuka holds a non-Title victory over Alexa from a few weeks back. If this match gets booked for Raw 25, it’s safe to say that Asuka will walk out of Raw 25 as the new Raw Women’s Champion and then won’t compete in the Women’s Royal Rumble 2018 match.
