5. WWE’s Two Reasons Behind Booking Roman Reigns To Enter The 2017 Royal Rumble Match At #30
As we all know, “The Guy” Roman Reigns was the final man (#30 entrant) to enter the 2017 Royal Rumble match. Many fans think WWE did that to just shove Reigns “down their throat” even more by putting him in the spotlight once again, but that’s not exactly the case.
One of the main reason to book Reigns at #30 was to begin his angle with The Undertaker, as the two are scheduled to face each other in one of the main events at WrestleMania 33.

Many fans are saying if Reigns (who was booked in a Title match earlier in the night) entered the Royal Rumble match, then AJ Styles (who was in a Title match earlier in the night as well) should’ve entered as well. But WWE officials booking Reigns to enter the match also had to do with using him to put over the eventual winner, Randy Orton.
#30 Spot in the Royal Rumble match is usually used to book big/surprise entries and WWE officials knew Reigns would be heavily booed if they book him to enter at that spot, which would mean when Orton eliminates Reigns from the match to win, he gets the biggest possible babyface reaction for his second Royal Rumble victory.
