Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Randy Orton and Bryan Danielson.

• At the WWE King & Queen Of The Ring 2024 PLE, Gunther defeated Randy Orton to win the King of the Ring tournament.

During an interview on Cody Rhodes’ ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’ show, Orton revealed what he ate before that match:

“I stole a bottle of Nutella from catering and consumed the entire thing before my match with Gunther, and probably gained 9 pounds that night.

I was sugared up to the gills. I want a Nutella deal, so I’ve been consuming a lot of Nutella, hence the 290 pounds. Traps provided by Nutella.”

• At AEW All In 2024, Swerve Strickland faced Bryan Danielson in a high-stakes title vs. career match for the AEW World Championship. The match, held at Wembley Stadium, culminated in a dramatic finish where “Hangman” Adam Page attempted to interfere but was stopped by security.

Danielson then delivered a series of running knee strikes followed by a crossface, securing the victory by submission. The moment was made even more special as Danielson celebrated with his family in the ring.

Despite initially resisting the idea of winning titles in All Elite Wrestling, Danielson ultimately agreed after AEW President Tony Khan insisted on him becoming AEW Champion.

According to Fightful Select, Khan wanted the event to conclude with Danielson as the champion, and sources confirmed that the decision for the main event had been made by April. A match involving Strickland and Will Ospreay was not planned, as one insider remarked, “Ospreay will have chances to main event Wembley for years to come.”

Backstage, there were lighthearted comments about AEW pulling off a “reverse Montreal Screwjob” to ensure Danielson’s victory.

During the post-show media scrum, Bryan confirmed that Khan had to do a lot of work to convince him to become champion.
