On this day in 2006, World Wrestling Entertainment aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWE Friday Night SmackDown!’.

It was broadcasted from the BI-LO Center in Greenville, South Carolina and featured pre-taped matches, interviews & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWE Royal Rumble 2006’ PPV.

In the main event segment of tonight’s RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Edge came out and explained how he was able to come out of retirement.

Edge says he got another neck surgery and worked his a$$ off, got in the best shape of his life at the age of 46 and now he has a chance to end his career on his own terms.

Edge says his run might not last long, but he wants fans to enjoy it. Edge says he might be old, but he has grit – ‘if you knock me down, I get back up’.

Randy Orton then interrupted Edge. Orton entered the ring and hugged Edge.

Orton said Edge is talking about “What Ifs” and asked what if Rated RKO got back together one more time? The fans began chanting YES and then Orton RKOed Edge out of nowhere!

Orton then attacked Edge with a Steel Chair! Orton then put Edge’s head in between the steel chair and decided to jump on it from the second rope, but changed his mind and threw the chair out of the ring.

However, Orton quickly changed his mind and brought two chairs in the ring this time. He puts Edge’s head on top of one chair and smashes his head with the other chair to end RAW!
