WWE Superstar Raquel Rodriguez has been diagnosed with MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome).

American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology defines MCAS as a condition in which the patient experiences repeated episodes of the symptoms of anaphylaxis – allergic symptoms such as hives, swelling, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing and severe diarrhea. High levels of mast cell mediators are released during those episodes.

Raquel issued the following statement:

“So long story short, last year I posted a video about being a WWE Superstar with eczema. In the month of December, it got progressively worse and I have been diagnosed with something called mast cell activation syndrome. Basically, I was red, swollen, there was a lot happening in [the face] area physically.

It kept me from doing the things that I love like traveling, going to the gym and wrestling. I also didn’t want to be on camera, I didn’t want to look in the mirror.

Thank God I moved back to Texas when I did because I have the best support system in the world during this time, which is my family. I’m so grateful to them and for everything they have done for me, and to you guys as well, who have sent me kind messages and reminded me that I didn’t have to go through this alone.”

Raquel’s last match took place at the December 3rd WWE Live Event, where she lost to Nia Jax.

Below are Raquel’s accomplishments in WWE so far:

– 3x WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion (2x Liv Morgan and 1x Aliyah)

– 1x NXT Women’s Champion

– 2x NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion (with Dakota Kai)

– 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winner (with Dakota Kai)
