• Raven On Why He Confronted Chris Benoit In WCW

Raven and Chris Benoit wrestled several matches against each other back in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1998 & 1999, with various stipulations, different results and both guys getting some wins.

During a recent appearance on Jake Roberts’ Snake Pit podcast, Raven spoke about some issues he had with Benoit back then.

Here’s what the former leader of the Flock had to say:

“He likes to not be friends with his opponents, especially if they’re working a program like that, because then he doesn’t feel guilty or anything for chopping the crap out of them and beating the crap out of them because his chops are brutal.

I finally cornered him one night. I was like ‘Why don’t you like me?’.

He goes ‘It’s not that I don’t like you’ and he explained what I just said, and ever since that we were totally cool.”

Chris Benoit left Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling after the WCW Souled Out 2000 pay-per-view and joined the World Wrestling Federation in February 2000.

He stayed with the company (later WWE) until the infamous ‘double-murder and suicide’ tragedy took place in June 2007.
