• Real Reason Why Brock Lesnar Is Working Backlash 2023
On the RAW after WrestleMania 39, Brock Lesnar turned heel and brutally assaulted Cody Rhodes.
This week on RAW, Cody challenged Brock to a match at the Backlash 2023 premium live event in Puerto Rico on May 6th.
According to PWInsider, WWE is booking Lesnar vs. Rhodes at Backlash as a part of their promotional deal with Puerto Rico.
This entire premium live event will serve as a promotion for Puerto Rico as a travel destination. WWE sees this event in the same way as their Saudi Arabia events and the Clash At The Castle event last year in Cardiff, Wales.
More ‘marquee matches’ are expected to be announced for this show, including Bad Bunny returning to the ring after over a year.
This means that Lesnar is going to work more than usual this year. He will work 5 straight PLEs according to the current schedule:
Royal Rumble 2023 – competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble match and lost
Elimination Chamber 2023 – lost to Bobby Lashley via DQ
WrestleMania 39 – defeated Omos
Backlash 2023 – scheduled to face Cody Rhodes
King & Queen Of The Ring 2023 – while he hasn’t been officially announced for this, Lesnar works all Saudi Arabia events due to the big paycheck involved

• Old School WWWF Heavyweight Champion Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 86th birthday of Old School WWWF Legend Stan “The Man” Stasiak (Real name: George Stipich).
Stan Stasiak defeated Pedro Morales for the WWWF World Title on December 1, 1973 but lost it 9 days later to “The Living Legend” Bruno Sammartino.
He was the father of Old School WWF/WCW Veteran Shawn Stasiak.
“The Man” was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 as part of their annual Legacy-Wing inductions.
