• Reason Behind Roman Reigns Being Pulled From Multiple WWE Shows

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns had claimed he would work through the summer in WWE, but that will not be the case. As previously noted, The OTC is no longer being promoted for several upcoming episodes of RAW, despite earlier listings.

WWE has updated its event pages, removing Reigns’ name from the June 1 show in Turin, June 8 in Paris, June 15 in Baltimore, and June 22 in London. He remains advertised for all RAW episodes through the end of May.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the reason Reigns was pulled from these June TV dates is that he will not be appearing at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia next month. As a result, there was no need to build towards the Premium Live Event on television with him.

WWE had featured Reigns on the poster for Night of Champions that was released recently, but it seems plans have changed.

Reigns is set to defend his title against Jacob Fatu at Backlash in Tampa this Saturday. They will have a contract signing on tomorrow’s RAW.

• John Cena’s Next WWE Appearance Revealed

John Cena retired from in-ring competition in December 2025. Shortly before his career ended, he signed a 5-year deal with WWE and now works in an ambassador role.

The 17-time World Champion last appeared at WrestleMania 42 – Night 2, where he handled hosting duties for the Grandest Stage of Them All in Las Vegas. His next appearance has now been revealed.

Cena is being advertised for this Saturday’s Backlash Premium Live Event in Tampa, Florida.

The Benchmark International Arena, host venue of the PLE, promoted the show on their website with the following:

“WWE RETURNS TO TAMPA WITH THE FIRST PREMIUM LIVE EVENT AFTER WRESTLEMANIA 42!

JOHN CENA RETURNS TO TAMPA AT BACKLASH!

– World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu

– Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker

– IYO SKY vs. Asuka

– Plus more matches to be announced!”

It is possible Cena’s appearance will involve something related to Club WWE. Over a week ago, he tweeted:

“Man if only it were 2023 again!! I might have different business at @WWE #Backlash Alas, the years pass. I am still gonna try to do something epic in Tampa for 5/9. I promised Club WWE something special… stay tuned.”

WWE has not confirmed if Cena will appear at the event yet.

Below is the card announced for Backlash so far:

United States Championship Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Sami Zayn
