Reason Behind Shane McMahon’s WrestleMania 34 Plan Changing

Shane McMahon

It looks like the plan for Shane McMahon vs. Dolph Ziggler has been cancelled for WrestleMania 34.

According to DirtySheets.Net, Shane O’Mac’s WrestleMania 34 plans changed because Braun Strowman and the Raw brand are WWE’s priority.

What happened is plan was for Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn to complain about how Shane screwed them at FastLane 2018. This would’ve resulted in Daniel Bryan booking a tag team match between the teams of AJ Styles/Shinsuke Nakamura & Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn with the stipulation being Owens & Zayn would be added to the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 34 if they win this match.

Then Shane would’ve added another stipulation into the match that Owens & Zayn would be fired from SmackDown Live if they lost. Owens & Zayn would have lost the match and then moved to Raw to challenge The Bar for the Raw Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 34.

This would have resulted in WWE officials beginning a feud between Shane O’Mac & Dolph Ziggler for WrestleMania 34. In this scenario, Braun Strowman would have faced Kane in a Casket match at WrestleMania 34.

However, WWE officials came up with a better plan for Strowman, which is for him to defeat The Bar all by himself and capture the Raw Tag Team Titles single handedly at WrestleMania 34.

With that being said, WWE officials decided to continue the rivalry between Shane – Owens/Zayn as that’s what made sense (rather than start a completely new feud with Ziggler). Dirty Sheets noted that door is still open for Daniel Bryan to get involved in this WrestleMania 34 match if a tag team match is booked.

Bryan originally refused to be a part of a tag team match as WWE officials planned to him have stand on the apron for 95% of the match and not do much physically.

With that being said, Ziggler will most likely end up being a part of the 5th annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34.
