Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving The Hardy Boyz and Roman Reigns.

• The Hardy Boyz could be returning to WWE TV soon! Jeff Hardy ended his last WWE run in 2021 on a sour note, walking out of a match during a live event and subsequently being released for refusing to go to rehab. He has stated that a drug relapse was not the reason for his departure during the match.

Eventually, WWE attempted to bring Jeff back a few months after the incident, even offering to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame to mend fences. However, Hardy declined the offer, waited for his 90-day non-compete clause to expire, and joined his brother Matt Hardy in AEW.

Jeff envisions a Hardy Boyz induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and only wants to be inducted alongside his brother, who left WWE in 2020 before joining AEW. Currently, both brothers are working in TNA.

According to PWInsider, the legendary tag team met with WWE officials early on Friday in Cleveland, Ohio, the location of SmackDown and SummerSlam.

The report added that The Hardys filmed some content that will be rolled out via WWE digital soon.

Given the working relationship between TNA and WWE, it’s possible that the Hardys could appear in WWE without signing deals with the company, as the two organizations continue to collaborate on crossovers.

Matt & Jeff are scheduled to work this weekend’s TNA TV tapings.

• There’s speculation that Roman Reigns will make his return to WWE programming at SummerSlam 2024.

WrestleVotes reported the following about WWE’s plan for the former Undisputed Champion:

“With the impending return of Roman Reigns, sources state one of the discussed ideas is focused around Reigns claiming to be ‘The Original Tribal Chief’ in response to the last few months of Solo Sikoa’s proclamations.”

On tonight’s SmackDown, Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam was turned into a “Bloodline Rules Match”.
