• Jerry Lawler Tried To Help Brian Christopher Get A Job At The WWE Performance Center, Brian Tried To Commit Suicide Before As Well
During a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler tried to help his late son Brian Christopher get a job at the WWE Peformance Center.
Below is what Meltzer said:
“Jerry had told Christoper many times that if you can clean yourself up for a year I’ll get you a job. You know whether it’s a trainer at the Performance Center which is kind of like what he was hinting or something, but ‘you’ve got to clean yourself up for a year.’ There would be periods where he would get clean to a degree, but it never lasted a year. I know one of his friends told me a couple of months and another one said that you know, his version of clean – the ‘wrestler version of clean’ is that he was on methadone and things like that.”
Meltzer also revealed that Brian tried to commit suicide before as well:
“I think there was a suicide attempt before that not too many people know of, I didn’t even know of until today, three or four years ago.”
• Reason Behind Vince McMahon Not Wanting To Appear On WWE TV Nowadays
While discussing the announcement of the first ever Women’s pay-per-view event, ‘WWE Evolution’, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer said that Vince McMahon has been looking very old these days.
According to Dave Meltzer, that’s the reason that Vince, who will turn 73 this month, doesn’t appear regularly on WWE television and now Stephanie and Triple H are the new faces of the company. He further said that it was Triple H and Stephanie McMahon who were involved in signing the new WWE TV Deals. They have been leading the company from the front recently.
The WWE CEO rarely appears on TV anymore. He was more into the backstage work but it looks like that too is reducing gradually.
