Old School WCW Legend Rey Mysterio Jr. (Real name: Óscar Gutiérrez) celebrates his 45th birthday today.

The legendary Mexican luchador Rey Mysterio first joined Paul Heyman’s ECW Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion in 1995 before jumping ship to Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in June of 1996.

His Lucha Libre high flying style revolutionized professional wrestling in the United States during the 90s, by establishing the famous cruiserweight division, in which smaller wrestlers would become a regular part of the business from that point forward.

• Reason Behind WWE Booking A Tables Match Between Rusev & Bobby Lashley At TLC 2019

As seen on this week’s episode of RAW, Rusev and Lana finally got divorced and a Tables match was set-up between Rusev & Bobby Lashley for this Sunday’s TLC 2019 PPV.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE set up a Tables match between the two to have a fluke finish (something similar to Sheamus vs. John Cena at TLC 2009) and then they could do a rematch under normal pinfall/submission rules.

Speaking of this Lana-Rusev-Lashley angle, CM Punk gave an interesting WrestleMania 36 plan for this feud on this week’s WWE Backstage:

“They have a match, they have a blow off. I don’t think Rusev wants to be involved with Lana anymore on-screen.

So, Lana and Bobby go off and do their thing, but Lana grinds on the nerves, Bobby is sick of her. He leaves Lana too, they have another divorce.

She gets another tag team to go after Bobby and Rusev, who have become best friends because they have the familiar: the ex-wife.

This new tag team with Lana in tow go after them. What they do at WrestleMania, they put Lana in a shark cage because by WrestleMania the new tag team is already so sick of Lana that the loser of the match gets what’s in the shark cage.”
