On this day in 2000, the World Wrestling Federation aired another LIVE episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF RAW IS WAR’.

It was broadcasted from the Compaq Center in Houston, Texas and featured matches, interviews & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF WrestleMania 2000’ PPV.

SmackDown Live wrestler Mustafa Ali is the latest wrestler whose name has been changed.

From this point on, he’ll only be known as “Ali”.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials changed Ali’s name because they felt the name “Mustafa” could hold him back from being completely supported by the crowd.

Ali now joins the following WWE wrestlers whose names were shortened:

– Luke Harper to Harper

– Erick Rowan to Rowan

– Elias Samson to Elias

– Adrian Neville to Neville (no longer in WWE)

– Alexander Rusev to Rusev

– Big E Langston to Big E

– Antonio Cesaro to Cesaro

– TJ Perkins to TJP (no longer in WWE)

– Andrade “Cien” Almas to Andrade

– Mustafa Ali to Ali
