• Reason Behind WWE Changing Original Plan For Kevin Owens

Former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens returned before FastLane 2019 and he was used as a babyface.

He then turned heel this week when he attacked WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and turned on The New Day.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the original plan for Owens was to be “a guy next door babyface, who ate junk food, had the same problems everyone else had, had kids, but could kick a$$.”

This is the reason why Owens was giving Stunner as his finisher, which is one of the most famous moves in Pro-Wrestling.

However, with Daniel Bryan being out of action with an injury, WWE had to change their plans in order to have a top heel on SmackDown. Instead of bringing a top heel from RAW, WWE turned Owens heel for a feud with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

Owens was originally scheduled to be a top babyface on SmackDown, only behind Roman Reigns & Kofi Kingston.
