Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.

• The Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament final, originally set for RAW’s Netflix debut episode on January 6, has been rescheduled to the January 13 episode of RAW.

The final will feature Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria to crown the inaugural champion.

According to WrestleVotes, the change was made to ensure the final receives proper focus, as WWE felt the match might be overshadowed by the high-profile Netflix premiere:

“We are told that WWE shifted the final of the Women’s Intercontinental Title Tournament off of the Netflix debut in order for the match to not get lost in the shuffle.

It seems like WWE wants to get this title off and running in a big way, and felt as though having it mixed in with a show the size of Netflix premiere would not do that justice.”

• WWE’s next Saturday Night’s Main Event special will take place on January 25, 2025 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Creative plans for the event are underway, with discussions of a rematch between Chelsea Green and Michin for the Women’s United States Championship.

Green previously defeated Michin in the title tournament final, with help from Piper Niven, last month at the return edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in Uniondale, New York.

WrestleVotes reported that this rematch could have a stipulation, which will help in ending this rivalry.
