On this day in 1990, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Superstars of Wrestling’.
This episode was pre-taped at the Hersheypark Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania and featured matches & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF Survivor Series 1990’ PPV.

• Reason Behind WWE Stopping Asuka vs. Mickie James On RAW
Asuka vs. Mickie James for the RAW Women’s Championship abruptly ended on last night’s RAW when both women were grappling each other and James was selling when Asuka was trying to lock her in a submission.
WWE issued the following statement on the ending of the match:
“Realizing that this could be her last chance at a championship, Mickie James left it all in the ring against The Empress of Tomorrow. But although Mickie James was ready for Asuka, Asuka was also ready for her. The RAW Women’s Champion locked on the Asuka Lock, and despite James’ best efforts to fight out, the referee ruled her unable to continue and awarded the match to Asuka.”
PWInsider is reporting that Mickie James is fine and the only reason the match between her and Asuka got stopped last night was because she sold the Asuka Lock so perfectly that the officials were fooled into thinking that she was out on her feet.
The original finish of the match was to have James tap out to the Asuka Lock. Zelina Vega coming out to confront the RAW Women’s Champion was also what was originally supposed to happen after the match.
The current plan for Clash Of Champions is for Asuka to defend her Title against Vega.
