Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving MVP, Triple H, Big Show & more.

• MVP recently left WWE following the expiration of his contract, disappointing many fans. Although his absence from television for several months had lessened the surprise, his departure seems to have ended on a sour note.

He has previously mentioned on social media that Triple H prevented the reformation of The Hurt Business in WWE. MVP is now calling his former boss a “coward and a liar” in response to Instagram comments.

A fan commented:

“Stop crying about how you’re jealous of Triple H.”

MVP replied:

“How could I be jealous of a coward and a liar?”

MVP returned to WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2020 Royal Rumble and faced Rey Mysterio on RAW the following night. Initially thought to be his final WWE appearance, he was re-signed due to favorable fan feedback and went on to form The Hurt Business faction, a highlight of WWE television during the pandemic era.

However, WWE disbanded the faction two years later, leading MVP to manage Omos instead.

• Paul Wight, also known as The Big Show, hopes to return to the wrestling ring soon. Wight, who joined AEW in February 2021 after over 20 years with WWE, has wrestled only a few matches and primarily worked as an announcer. His most recent match was earlier this year, teaming with Chris Jericho on the Chris Jericho Cruise.

A few months ago, Wight shared on Instagram that he was back in the gym following knee and hip replacements. In July, during an episode of ROH TV, Wight announced that Tony Khan had appointed him to the Ring of Honor Board of Directors.

Appearing on Downunder The Ring, Wight expressed his desire to return to the ring: “God, I hope so because Tony Khan paid me a sh*t ton of money to get in the ring, and so far, I haven’t done sh*t.”

Regarding a bump onto a car at the hands of Powerhouse Hobbs, Wight said:

“I did. Then, right after that, I went and got my knee replaced. Thanks, Will Hobbs. Will Hobbs is amazing. I have nothing but nice things to say about Will. One, he looks like an absolute monster. Two, he is one of the nicest, humbled human beings. I have met a lot of people in this business. Will Hobbs is [in my] top 3 of the most nicest, humbled human beings I’ve ever met.”
