• Released WWE Star Reveals Lowest NXT Salary Can Be $30,000 A Year

In recent months, WWE’s pay structure for developmental talent has become a major topic of discussion. The conversation first gained attention when Jazmyn Nyx left the company earlier this year after disagreeing with the salary she was offered after her contract expired.

It resurfaced again after a GoFundMe campaign was launched on behalf of Ridge Holland, who was recently released by WWE and revealed he had been struggling to keep up with his mortgage and living expenses. The situation led many fans to question how much the company’s wrestlers, particularly those not on the main roster, are actually paid.

During an interview with Denise Salcedo, former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Gigi Dolin (Priscilla Kelly) shed light on the financial reality of WWE’s developmental system, revealing that some NXT contracts are surprisingly low.

“A lot of fans, for some reason, think that if you work in WWE and you’re under that umbrella, you’re a millionaire. That’s not the case. In NXT, there’s contracts as low as $30,000 a year, and they do not go as high as you think.

You have to live in Florida, which it’s very expensive to live here, having to pay for new gear all the time, and all these expenses, and taking care of your body and all these little things – it all adds up. At the end of the day, especially because you can’t make money outside of what you make in WWE, you don’t make a lot.”

Dolin added that she’s actually doing better financially now on the independent scene.

“With all of my work, all of the bookings I’ve been taking, I arguably think I actually make more than I did in NXT now, which is wild for people to comprehend.”

She isn’t the first talent to claim she’s earning more outside of WWE than she did in the company. Recently, Karrion Kross and Scarlett made similar statements about their post-WWE earnings.

• Latest Update On Edge Amid Time Off From AEW

Adam Copeland (aka WWE Hall of Famer Edge) was written off AEW television last month after a dramatic segment with Christian Cage backstage at All Out. The moment followed their match against FTR at the pay-per-view, where Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler attacked Copeland’s wife, Beth Phoenix, leading him to tell Christian that he needed to step away to take care of his family.

Christian understood him and told Copeland that he no longer had a family himself. Copeland replied that Christian does have a family, shook his hand, and admitted he wasn’t sure if or when he would return.

Following the segment, PWInsider reported that Copeland was written off AEW programming to film the final season of Percy Jackson.

In a new update, PWInsider reports that Adam Copeland has been spotted in London, where he is currently filming for The Beekeeper 2. The former AEW TNT Champion is expected to be busy with the project for most of November.
