Former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush was among the numerous talents who were released by WWE to make budget cuts.

“The Man Of The Hour” spent some time on the WWE main roster, where he managed Bobby Lashley.

While speaking to Fightful, he revealed that he was slated to win the Intercontinental Championship during The All Mighty’s feud with Finn Balór:

“Lio Rush claimed that at one point during his run with Bobby Lashley, he was set to become Intercontinental Champion. The switch was planned during the Finn Balor feud, but he couldn’t remember why it didn’t pan out.”

Speaking of Rush, he said that he may never wrestle again.
