• Tonight’s WWE Live Event in Chicago featured a Steel Cage Match in the main event between Gunther and CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, marking their first-ever clash.
Gunther retained his Title with the help of Dominik Mysterio, who interfered and slammed the cage door in Punk’s head. Gunther escaped the cage to win the match.

Chaos erupted after the match as Dominik, joined by Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Carlito, attacked Punk. The hometown hero was rescued by Rey Mysterio, Otis, and LA Knight, who turned the tide and energized the crowd.
Highlights included Rey’s crowd-pleasing 619 on all four heels and Punk’s GTS. Otis and LA Knight added humor with synchronized “worm” moves.
The event concluded with Punk, Rey, Otis, and LA Knight celebrating together to a roaring Chicago audience.

• AEW Worlds End 2024 pay-per-view featured notable matches and surprise appearances, including the returns of Adam Copeland and Kenny Omega. The main event featured Jon Moxley retaining the AEW World Championship. Tap here for complete results.
According to Fightful Select, several familiar faces were spotted backstage at this event:
– Baron Corbin (Tom Pestock), under a WWE non-compete clause until next month, was present but unable to sign with AEW at this time.
– AJ Francis (Top Dolla in WWE), whose TNA contract expires on January 1, was seen speaking with AEW President Tony Khan and reconnecting with former Hit Row teammate Swerve Strickland.
– Tyler Breeze, visiting friends, has been wrestling selectively since leaving WWE in 2021 after a successful hiatus.
– Teal Piper, daughter of Roddy Piper, was also backstage. Piper has previously wrestled at AEW events and on the independent circuit.
