Rey Mysterio Unmasked

• EC 3 Says He Didn’t Leave Impact Wrestling Because Of Financial Issues

During a recent interview with Newsweek, former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III talked about the reason why he moved from Impact Wrestling to WWE (NXT).

Below is what EC 3 said:

“My decision to leave Impact had nothing to with their business or finances and everything with me wanting to challenge myself to something new. Leaving Impact was a very difficult decision as I had six months left on a very lucrative and talent-friendly contract. Anthem lived up to that contract and always treated me with the utmost respect as a businessman and a person.”

• Rey Mysterio Reportedly Suffers Injury

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio suffered an injury during a tag team match on Friday night at a Northeast Wrestling event.

Mysterio reportedly suffered a left biceps injury in a match where he teamed up with Flip Gordon to face the team of Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley.

Mysterio informed Mercury of the injury during the match and the finish of the match was set-up immediately with Mysterio nailing a double 619 and a Splash off the tope rope on Konley to pin him and win the match for his team.

Mysterio had heavy swelling on his left arm backstage after the match.

With Mysterio suffering an injury and rumors flying around of him signing with WWE for a match WrestleMania 34, and with WrestleMania 34 being only 5 weeks away, things aren’t looking good for the former World Heavyweight Champion if he was indeed planning to wrestle at WrestleMania 34.

Mysterio is also scheduled to face Jushin “Thunder” Liger at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Strong Style Evolved event on March 25th.

We’ll keep you updated regarding Mysterio’s status.
