Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Rey Mysterio and Wyatt Sicks.

• Rey Mysterio Was Planning To Go Old School At WrestleMania 41

Rey Mysterio was set to make an old school entrance at WrestleMania 41, featuring his trademark leap from the stage platform, but a last-minute injury forced WWE to scrap those plans, according to PWInsider.

Mysterio sustained a groin injury during a 6-man tag team match on WrestleMania SmackDown, which led to the cancellation of the planned entrance entirely. No other wrestler ended up using the special setup in his place.

In light of Mysterio’s injury, Rey Fenix was used as a last-minute replacement to face El Grande Americano, where Fenix suffered his first pinfall loss in WWE.

Fenix’s performance was reportedly well-received backstage, with sources praising both his in-ring work and his willingness to step in on extremely short notice.

• WWE Is Planning A New Leader For Wyatt Sicks

The Wyatt Sicks faction appears poised for a major change when they return to WWE television — and that shift involves a new leader.

According to a report from PWInsider, Alexa Bliss is expected to be revealed as the new leader of the Wyatt Sicks stable once the group returns to TV. The faction — made up of Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, and Nikki Cross — has not appeared on WWE programming since late 2024. Their absence was largely due to Bo Dallas recovering from injury, though PWInsider now notes that Dallas has been medically cleared to return.

In fact, Dallas was reportedly pitched as a potential opponent for Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but the match ultimately went to TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, who was handpicked by Orton.

Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss has also been off television since Elimination Chamber on March 1. Though not injured, Bliss simply wasn’t booked for WrestleMania 41, despite being in attendance. Her absence, sources told PWInsider, was attributed to creative plans rather than health-related issues.
