• Earlier this year in March, Rhea Ripley delivered a stinkface to Nia Jax at a WWE Live Event, a spot which went viral on social media.

This spot was criticized by some people, who believe Rhea set women’s wrestling back by doing this.
During an interview with Ring the Belle, Rhea had the following to say about the criticism she received:
“Shut up… shut up. Honestly like it’s real funny because I get criticism for every single little thing I do, but, you see the men doing this and you’re like ‘yeah! that looks cool! amazing’.
Tiffany Stratton does this the other week and they’re like ‘oh my god I love you Tiffany, oh, my, god, you’re so sexy please do that to me’, but when I do it there’s a problem? Why? You just mad that I’m popular that’s why.”
• During an interview with Inside The Ropes, AEW International Champion Will Ospreay talked about being a highly rated wrestler by Dave Meltzer (in terms of Meltzer’s infamous star ratings).
Here’s what Ospreay said:
“Do you honestly think I’m better than Kurt Angle? Because I can tell you now I’m not. Do you think I’m better than Shawn Michaels? I can tell you that I’m not.
[Dave Meltzer] has a certain taste, and I appeal to that level of taste. I don’t really have any opinion on it. But I do enjoy seeing what happens and the discourse between people; it is hilarious at this point.
But any wrestlers that say it either in promos or on their phone about how it doesn’t matter, deep down it hurts them. It really does.”
