Ric Flair believes Randy Orton stands alone as the WWE’s top male performer today. Speaking on the DOUBL3 COVERAGE PODCAST, Flair praised Orton’s talent, longevity, and natural ability, calling him the standout worker in the entire company right now.
“Randy is the best male worker in the company right now,” Flair stated, making it clear that in his eyes, no one combines skill, experience, and presence the way Orton does.
Flair, who has known Orton since he was a teenager and worked closely with him during their time in Evolution, didn’t sugarcoat how he feels about WWE’s current use of Orton. “He’s underutilized. They don’t utilize him the way I would if I was a booker, but I’m not,” he said.
Despite feeling Orton could be positioned even more prominently, Flair also emphasized that Orton is doing extremely well for himself. “He’s making a lot of money. He’s doing good. He’s happy. And that’s all that matters.”
The respect Flair has for Orton goes well beyond backstage politics. He praised Orton’s physical condition and genetic gifts, noting how impressive he still looks this deep into his career. Flair also claimed Orton isn’t on steroids: “Look at his body. I mean, God, he’s off the gas and still looks great.” Flair even called him an “Adonis,” highlighting Orton’s elite symmetry and physique as part of what makes him so unique in an industry filled with top-level athletes.
Flair also pointed out Orton’s ability to draw genuine emotion from audiences – something he considers a rare skill. “He could really pi$$ you off,” he recalled, laughing about how effective Orton was at getting under people’s skin. According to Flair, that’s a major part of why Orton has been successful for so long: he knows how to make fans care, one way or another.
As someone who has shared the ring with nearly every major star of the last half-century, Flair’s words carry considerable weight. His endorsement of Orton isn’t casual praise – it’s the highest possible compliment from someone who understands in-ring work better than almost anyone alive.
To Ric Flair, “The Viper” isn’t just a future Hall of Famer or one of the greats of his generation. Right now, in 2025, Flair believes Randy Orton is the best male wrestler, a status earned through skill, longevity, and a mastery of professional wrestling that few can match.
