TNA wrestler Rich Swann was arrested on June 8 in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and charged with disorderly public intoxication and causing a disturbance, both misdemeanors.
Following the incident, Swann is entering a substance abuse rehab program, according to TNA. The company learned of the arrest when contacted for comment by POST Wrestling.
The arrest report from Seminole County details that Swann was initially seen trying to forcefully enter an apartment, claiming it was his home. The resident, armed with a handgun, confronted Swann, who then left the property.
Swann was later found by police and arrested after allegedly following a woman to her apartment, causing her to fear for her safety.
The police report described Swann as intoxicated, incoherent, and causing disturbances that alarmed several residents. He admitted to drinking “a lot” earlier in the evening. Swann was released the next day on a $250 bond and is being represented by a private attorney.
Swann has a history of similar charges, including a previous arrest in September 2022 for a similar offense. In response to the latest incident, TNA Wrestling stated that it takes such charges seriously and has suspended Swann pending the completion of its investigation. Swann has also withdrawn from future independent bookings.
This incident is not Swann’s first legal trouble. In December 2017, he was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and domestic battery involving his wife, pro wrestler Su Yung. Those charges were eventually dropped due to insufficient evidence, but Swann was suspended by WWE and later released from the company.
You can read TNA’s statement about Swann below:
“TNA Wrestling takes any and all charges against its performers seriously. Rich Swann is responsible for his own personal actions.
He has informed TNA Wrestling that he is voluntarily entering into a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
TNA has suspended Rich Swann pending the completion of its investigation into the incidents.”
Swann is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and a former TNA / IMPACT World Champion.
