ROH Champ Thanked AEW President Tony Khan For Reviving Him As A Wrestler

– On the latest episode of his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle watched the July 4th 2005 episode of RAW, which featured John Cena.

Angle had the following to say about the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion:

“John Cena, he was maybe 2 or 3 years in the business by this time, and here he is on top.

I mean, this kid picked it up very quickly, and he had arguably the best career in WWE history.

He did win 16 World Heavyweight Titles in WWE specifically. No one’s ever done that.”

– At the recent ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023 PPV, Katsuyori Shibata defeated Daniel Garcia to retain the ROH Pure Championship.

In the post show media scrum, Shibata thanked AEW President Tony Khan by playing the following translated message:

“Thank you Tony for reviving me as a wrestler. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

– AEW Battle Of The Belts VII drew 524,000 viewers with a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is up from the 6th edition back in April, which drew 415,000 viewers with a 0.14 rating.
