• Roman Reigns Almost Lost One Of His Titles Recently
In the main event of WWE Clash At The Castle 2022 premium live event, Roman Reigns shocked the world by defeating Drew McIntyre to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Majority of the fans were thinking that Roman was going to lose here and Drew was going to get his big moment in front of the fans in the UK, but it didn’t happen.
However, WWE originally planned on making Roman lose one of his Titles through a Money In The Bank cash-in stipulation.
Austin Theory was going to cash-in his MITB contract and announce that he was only cashing-in for one of the Titles due to a rule in the contract. This would then turn the Roman vs. Drew match into a Triple Threat Match involving Theory.
Tyson Fury would’ve then knocked out Theory with a punch and McIntyre would’ve pinned Theory to win one of the Titles.
In the end, WWE decided against it and booked Roman to retain the Undisputed Title.
Here’s what Wrestlevotes reported about it:
“The only thing they could think of was with Austin Theory. He was going to somehow make it known that he was only cashing-in for one of the belts.
Therefore, it became a triple threat, and Tyson Fury stopped him like he did, and Drew would then take one of the Titles.
They wanted to make the Titles separate in the moment, because they do want 2 titles again, but they’re struggling to figure out how.”
