• During an interview on the SI Media podcast, Roman Reigns was asked about his thoughts on Cody Rhodes replacing The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
Here’s what The OTC said:
“It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with, you know. I am the hot chick, everyone wanted to take me out.
It’s where, we just need to get there and defend this thing. It didn’t matter who it is. They are trying to stop history from happening. They are trying to take us off the pinnacle right now, so it was the same task in hand for me.”
When asked if he was disappointed that the long-awaited dream match with The Rock didn’t happen, Reigns replied:
“I never really looked at it like that. It was almost more so like this… kinda the same sentiment when I got all deep on you and you said get back to the Tribal Chief character.
I wasn’t even looking at him like ‘oh, this is DJ’. It was just me and another family member, and I mean that with the utmost love and respect.”
