• Roman Reigns Set To Return With A New Moniker
Behind the scenes, WWE has started laying the groundwork for Roman Reigns’ highly anticipated comeback. According to WrestleVotes, new merchandise and marketing materials are already in development, signaling that the company is getting serious about bringing The OTC back into the spotlight.
While there had been talks about involving Reigns at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia this Saturday, plans shifted – and now the focus is firmly on his return ahead of SummerSlam, where he’s expected to play a major role.
Interestingly, WWE is also exploring variations of the “Tribal Chief” moniker, hinting at a possible refresh or evolution of his character when he resurfaces.
• Interesting Update On The Jon Moxley / AEW Lawsuit
AEW and their World Champion Jon Moxley are facing a civil lawsuit filed by a production crew member who has worked with the company since 2019. As reported by The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Christopher Dispensa filed the suit on May 30 in Wayne County Circuit Court, accusing both AEW and Moxley (real name Jonathan Good) of negligence, and alleging civil assault and battery following an incident on the May 10, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Dispensa claims that during a match between Moxley and Kenny Omega in Detroit, Moxley unexpectedly shoved him to the ground while retrieving a screwdriver, causing serious neck and shoulder injuries. The incident allegedly led to cervical fusion and shoulder surgery. According to the filing, Dispensa says the shove was not part of the planned segment, and that it demonstrated “a complete disregard” for his safety.
The lawsuit also accuses AEW of gross negligence in its handling of the situation. Dispensa’s legal team argues that Moxley acted outside of his scripted role and AEW failed to take precautions to protect non-wrestling staff at ringside. The complaint further criticizes AEW for how it allegedly failed to follow up on the incident and for not providing medical care beyond initial communication.
Though the lawsuit claims Moxley had “a history of disciplinary issues,” several AEW sources told The Takedown they were unaware of any such problems, instead describing Moxley as a respected figure in the locker room.
Dispensa says he informed AEW medical personnel and staff of his injuries on the night of the incident. However, he never filed a formal report and continued working elsewhere shortly after. His lawyers said AEW later stopped providing medical assistance and the company never formally acknowledged what happened.
Dispensa is seeking compensation exceeding $25,000, citing medical bills, permanent injuries, emotional distress, lost wages, and damage to his professional reputation.
AEW declined to comment on the lawsuit, stating they do not comment on pending legal matters. A status conference for the lawsuit is set for August 29.
In an update on this situation, Fightful Select is reporting that the individual who handed the AEW Tag Team Titles to The Hurt Syndicate on Dynamite is the son of the person who filed the lawsuit against Moxley and All Elite Wrestling. Despite the legal situation, sources say he has continued working with the company without any problems.
Moxley is scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against 2025 Men’s Owen Hart Cup winner “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW All In: Texas on July 12.
