Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day:

– Ronda Rousey battled Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules match at WWE SummerSlam 2023. Baszler won the match via Technical Submission after Rousey passed out to her Kirifuda Clutch.

This match was apparently Rousey’s last match of her second WWE run.

It looks like the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion will not be returning to WWE as her latest Instagram post indicates that she has retired from the squared circle.

She shared pictures with her husband, daughter and her friend Marina Shafir and captioned them the following:

“‘Sorry, I couldn’t hear you through my retirement.’ Bernie Lumen”

There were rumors after her departure from WWE in the summer that she was considering a return to UFC at UFC 300, but UFC President Dana White put an end to those rumors and said Ronda accomplished everything she wanted to, both in UFC & WWE.

She was also reportedly considering a role in Hollywood and having another kid down the line.

– During an interview on Talk Is Jericho, Edge aka Adam Copeland was full of praise for AEW’s Darby Allin and called him a special pro wrestler. He also praised the former TNT Champion’s in-ring skills and compared him to WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy. Below is what Edge said:

“A guy like Darby. I know he’s already a lynchpin to this place and is one of the foundations, but that guy, he’s special. I told him this and I meant it with the utmost respect because sometimes when you compare to other people…it’s just natural to compare.

I was like, ‘You’re Rey Mysterio with Jeff Hardy splashed all over you.’ That’s awesome. He does (have the x-factor). He has that thing. He knows how to sell. How to be aggressive, when to be aggressive, it’s fun to see. Meeting him, seeing his attitude, I really think that guy is special.”
