• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday
Old School WWF Veteran T.L. Hopper (Tony Anthony) celebrates his 60th birthday today.
After touring the territories during the 80s, Tony made a name for himself as “Dirty White Boy” in Jerry Jarrett’s United States Wrestling Association (USWA) and Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain Wrestling during the early and mid 90s.
In 1996, it was also Jim Cornette who helped bringing Anthony to the World Wrestling Federation, where he received the gimmick of wrestling plumber T.L. Hopper.
In the fall of 1997, he was repackaged as Uncle Cletus, heel manager of The Godwinns, before he left the promotion and went on to wrestle on the independent scene.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY T.L. HOPPER!
• Ronda Rousey Reacts To Facing Backlash For Her “Fake Fights” Comments, Alexa Bliss Takes A Shot At Rousey For Injuring Her
As we noted before, during a recent interview on Wild Ride podcast, UFC Hall of Famer & former RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey talked about her time in WWE and said the following:
“I love the WWE. I had such a great time. I love all the girls in the locker room. Like hell yeah, running out there and having like fake fights for fun is just the best thing, you know.”
This statement resulted in Rousey getting a lot of backlash. Rousey then issued the following statement on Twitter:
“Anyone who is outraged by me calling pro wrestling “fake fights for fun” has never been in a REAL fight.
While you all are tip toeing around bruising some pro wrestlers’ huge soft egos – no one is thinking about all the REAL fighters you’re insulting when pretending pro wrestling is somehow on the same level of realism.
Yes, I understand, wrestling 300 days a year for years on end is incredibly tough on the body and a difficult profession-but do you know what would happen if you got in 300 REAL fights in a year? You would be dead.”

Alexa Bliss, who got injured during a match with Rousey, took a shot at her by tweeting the following:
Hm. Was out for almost a year. Must have been “ fake” pic.twitter.com/lnLLAq3laT
